Chats and tasks is the combined history for conversation threads and recent agent work. It helps you answer two different questions from one list: “Which conversation established the context?” and “Which task owns the execution state?”

Chats and tasks separates all work, conversations, and recent tasks while keeping title search and New chat available.

Open Chats and tasks

The page is intentionally not a permanent sidebar destination. Reach it in any of these ways:
  • In the sidebar Recents group, use the arrow action whose label is Open chats and tasks.
  • Open the command palette and search for Chats and tasks.
  • Open Chats and tasks directly.
The Recents filter itself offers Recent, Chats, and Tasks. Use it for a quick return; use Open chats and tasks for the searchable full page.
The fixed sidebar row is hidden in the current navigation. The page remains supported and reachable through Recents, the command palette, and its URL.

Use the page controls

The header shows Chats and tasks and a New chat action. The list offers:
  • All for conversations and tasks together
  • Chats for conversation threads only
  • Tasks for recent agent work only
  • Search chats and tasks… for a title search
Search matches the visible chat or task title. It does not search message bodies, attachments, outputs, or task transcripts. Rows are ordered by their latest update, so a recently changed task can move above an older conversation. Select New chat when the new request should not inherit a prior thread’s context.

Read a chat row

A chat row can show:
  • The conversation title
  • Archived when the thread is archived
  • Started by email when the starter is known
  • The relative time of its latest update
Select the row to open the complete conversation. Use the thread to recover:
  1. The original request and attachments
  2. Later scope or authority changes
  3. Questions and submitted answers
  4. Proposals and recorded choices
  5. Attached tasks and final outputs
Continue the thread when the next request relies on those records and decisions. Start a new chat when the objective, source-of-truth record, provider account, or authority boundary has materially changed.

Read a task row

A task row can show:
  • The specialist or task identity
  • The task title
  • The run kind
  • The current status
  • The relative time of its latest lifecycle change
The compact status can be Running, Waiting for you, Done, Failed, or Canceled. Select the row to open its reload-safe Activity run detail, not the surrounding conversation. The Tasks view covers recent agent work from the last 7 days. For older work, use Activity and its Full history filters.

Choose chat or task deliberately

One conversation can contain several tasks. One task row represents one selected run. Match titles, timestamps, and attachments rather than assuming the newest row belongs to the request you remember.

Hand off work to another member

Send the conversation when the reviewer needs the request and decision history. Send the task detail when they need execution status or output. In the latest chat message, summarize:
  1. The current objective
  2. The attached records and date window
  3. The accepted result or proposal
  4. The linked task and its status
  5. The next decision and verification surface
The recipient can then move from the request to the task and final object without reconstructing the flow from screenshots.

Troubleshooting

Open the full Chats and tasks page. Recents is a compact merged list and may not include the older item you need.
Search the displayed title rather than message text. Switch between All, Chats, and Tasks, or use Activity for older task history.
Open Activity and use Full history, its search, date range, source, and agent filters.
Open the row to review it. Treat old scope and time-sensitive facts as historical, and restate the current boundary before continuing.
Open the task detail and compare its specialist, created or updated time, originating conversation, and output. Do not answer or stop a run until those match.
