Prerequisites
- A Marketer Owner, Admin, or Member role
- Permission to install or authorize an app for the Shopify store
- The store’s custom domain or
.myshopify.comURL - A decision about which stores belong in the workspace and which should contribute to the revenue rollup
Connect a store
1
Open Shopify
Go to Integrations, then open Shopify.
2
Enter the store URL
Paste either the custom storefront domain or the
.myshopify.com URL. Marketer resolves it to the canonical Shopify store before authorization.3
Review Shopify's consent screen
Approve only the permissions your use case requires. A reconnect can ask again for capabilities that the store previously granted.
4
Confirm the store
Return to Marketer and verify the store name, domain, currency, connection state, and whether it is included in the workspace revenue rollup.
Confirm the first sync
The Data sync section shows the current state, imported product and collection counts, and available coverage. For multiple stores, Marketer also shows how many are connected and how many contribute to the revenue rollup. A successful first check includes:- the correct store under Stores;
- a completed sync;
- products and collections appearing in Marketer; and
- a read-only best-seller or revenue question that matches a completed Shopify period.
Data and permission boundaries
Marketer can use products, collections, orders, and revenue made available by each connected store. Some data capabilities require additional Shopify permission. Granting one of those permissions can trigger a fresh historical import so the newly available data is complete. Each store has its own authorization, sync state, and rollup setting. Reconnecting one store does not change its siblings.Freshness and reporting
Use the sync state and last-synced information before relying on recent orders or revenue. Operational events and reporting systems can settle at different times. For a multi-store workspace, confirm both the store filter and revenue-rollup inclusion before comparing Marketer totals with a single Shopify admin.Reconnect, resync, or disconnect
- Use Resync when a healthy store needs refreshed data.
- Reconnect the specific store when its token is no longer valid or when you intentionally add a data capability.
- Review failed or in-progress status before starting another sync. Cancel an in-flight sync only when you intend to stop that import.
- If status is unavailable, refresh first. Marketer does not erase the last-known connection on a read error.
- Disconnecting a store removes it as an active source for this workspace. Check product views, revenue reporting, and workflows first.
