# Catalog, product detail, and image enhancement

> Verify the Shopify catalog, read product and sales detail, seed Studio or Campaigns, and review enhanced images before a Shopify push.

**Products** is Marketer's Shopify-backed catalog. Shopify remains the source of truth for product identity, variants, status, price, inventory, and storefront content; Marketer adds synchronized sales context and product-aware handoffs.

Open [Products](https://app.marketer.com/dashboard/products) and confirm the active workspace and connected store.

## Understand the independent data layers

| Layer | What can appear | Decision boundary |
| ------------- | -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- | ------------------------------------------ |
| Catalog | Product identity, image, vendor, tags, handle, status, variants, and price range | Can be usable before sales data |
| Collections | Collection roster and product membership | Can arrive after initial product rows |
| Sales metrics | Units, revenue, KPIs, and trends from available Shopify orders | Wait for covered order data before ranking |

A placeholder or missing metric is not automatically zero. Do not use **Best sellers** or **Revenue** sorting as decision-grade evidence while sales metrics are loading or degraded.

Product money uses the Shopify source currency. Preserve any disclosure when the workspace display currency differs.

## Sync the catalog

Use the Products surface and Integrations together:

* **Resync** when Shopify changed and the current connection is otherwise healthy.
* **Retry sync** when Products names a failed source read.
* Wait for the status to settle before searching again.
* Open the exact source product in Shopify if a field still differs.

<Note>
  **Add product** explains that manual product entry is not currently available. Create or correct the product in Shopify, then sync it into Marketer.
</Note>

## Find the exact product

<Steps>
  <Step title="Choose Products or Collections">
    Use **Products** for the full catalog. Use **Collections** when membership is part of the question, then open a collection to inspect its product set.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Search identifying fields">
    Use **Search products by name, vendor, or tag…**. Prefer an exact title, vendor, tag, handle, or source check when similar regional or variant records exist.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Choose table or card view">
    Use table view for selection and field comparison. Use card view when image identity distinguishes similar titles.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Choose a valid sort">
    Select **Featured**, **Best sellers**, **Revenue**, **Price: high to low**, **Price: low to high**, or **Name A–Z**. Use a metric sort only after sales coverage is usable.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Open the product detail">
    Confirm the breadcrumb reads **Products** followed by the intended title. Do not proceed from a thumbnail or name alone.
  </Step>
</Steps>

## Inspect product detail

<Steps>
  <Step title="Verify catalog identity">
    Review the gallery, title, status, vendor, product type, description, price range, and variants.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Open View in Shopify">
    Confirm the source record, current offer, availability, product URL, and live storefront behavior.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Set the sales window">
    Choose a date range within the store's available order history. The product URL preserves the selected boundaries so the view can be revisited.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Read totals and trend together">
    Compare the visible KPIs, prior-period context, and product trend under the same source currency and order-date coverage.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Inspect variants">
    Confirm the intended variant exists and matches Shopify. Product-level sales do not prove which variant, campaign, or creative caused the result.
  </Step>
</Steps>

If the window has no available orders, distinguish a true zero from a date outside synchronized history. Use Analytics for a cross-channel or attribution-aware explanation.

## Hand selected products to Campaigns

From the list, select one or more products and choose **Build campaign**.

1. Confirm the campaign chooser opens.
2. For one product, verify its title and storefront URL seeded the flow.
3. For several products, inspect the actual scope. The seed can summarize the selection around the first product rather than representing each one equally.
4. Choose only a connected Meta or Google Ads builder that supports the intended campaign.
5. Reverify product, destination, objective, audience, budget, conversion, creative, and schedule.
6. Keep the campaign as a draft until review and approval are complete.

If Marketer cannot derive a storefront URL, enter and open the destination manually before building the rest of the campaign.

## Hand selected products to Studio

Select **Create ads** from product detail or the multi-select bar.

* Select only products that belong in one creative session.
* When the selection exceeds Studio's product-attachment limit, read how many were attached and add the remaining intended products from the composer.
* Confirm every product attachment before writing the direction.
* Add audience, angle, offer, proof, format, and exclusions; the catalog record does not supply creative strategy.
* Review generated product shape, branding, price, offer, copy, and destination before saving.

Continue with [Studio](/product-guides/creatives-studio) for generation and refinement.

## Enhance a product image

Select **Enhance images** on a product with a gallery image. The action is unavailable when no usable source image exists.

<Steps>
  <Step title="Choose the source image">
    Confirm the selected gallery image. The primary image can be preselected, but another gallery image may be the correct starting point.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Choose a mode">
    Select **Enhance**, **Background**, **Isolate**, **Relight**, or **Upscale**. Read the mode description before writing additional detail.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Complete Details">
    Describe the requested scene, lighting, cutout, correction, or scale. Do not ask the edit to invent a feature the source product does not have.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Review usage">
    Read the displayed output count and token cost, then choose **Generate previews**. The current flow creates two previews and saves their generation to Studio while it runs.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Inspect each preview">
    Wait for each tile to finish. Compare product shape, materials, logo, color, included items, scale, shadows, background, and artifacts with the source.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Choose Open in Studio or Push to Shopify">
    Use **Open in Studio** for further work. Use **Push to Shopify** only for a fully reviewed preview intended for the source product.
  </Step>
</Steps>

### Understand Shopify push permission

**Push to Shopify** requires **Integrations → Shopify → Advanced permissions → Push enhanced images to Shopify**.

Enabling that permission allows reviewed generated images to be added to the live source product. It does not approve a specific image. Confirm the product, preview, rights, and storefront effect again at the push.

After a successful request, Shopify can continue processing the image briefly. Verify both the product administration and live storefront before using it in customer-facing work.

## Use the list action bar accurately

| Action              | Current behavior                                                     |
| ------------------- | -------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **Build campaign** | Seeds the selected product context into campaign creation |
| **Create ads** | Seeds selected products into Studio, subject to attachment limits |
| **Open in Shopify** | Opens source product administration |
| **Edit** | Bulk editing is shown as coming soon; edit in Shopify |
| **Add label** | Product labels are shown as coming soon |
| **Archive** | Marketer-side archive is shown as coming soon; manage Shopify status |
| **Clear selection** | Clears selection without changing products |

Do not design an operating process around an action explicitly marked coming soon.

## Completion check

* The active workspace and Shopify store are correct.
* Sync completed after the latest source change.
* Identity, handle, status, vendor, variants, price, availability, and destination match Shopify.
* Sales conclusions include window, source currency, and coverage state.
* Campaigns or Studio shows the intended product context before work continues.
* Every enhanced preview was compared with the source product.
* A Shopify push used the intended permission and landed on the correct product and storefront.

## Troubleshooting

<AccordionGroup>
  <Accordion title="The catalog is empty">
    Confirm Shopify is connected to this workspace. Wait for initial setup or use **Retry sync** on a failed connection; do not create replacement product records in Marketer.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="A product or collection is missing">
    Clear search, choose the correct **Products** or **Collections** view, and verify the source in Shopify. Select **Resync**, wait for completion, then search by an exact field.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="Revenue or Best sellers is incomplete">
    Wait for the sales-metrics layer and confirm the window contains covered Shopify orders. Use a non-metric sort until coverage is usable.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="Product context did not reach Studio or Campaigns">
    Repeat the handoff once from the exact selected record, then inspect the destination's product attachments or seed before continuing. Add a missing URL or overflow product manually.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="Enhance images is disabled">
    Add a usable gallery image in Shopify, complete a sync, and reopen product detail.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="An enhancement failed">
    Open the persisted generation in Studio, inspect the source and instruction, and retry only the failed intent after confirming token availability.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="Push to Shopify asks for access">
    If the push is intended, enable **Push enhanced images to Shopify** under Shopify **Advanced permissions**, then retry the same reviewed preview. Otherwise keep it in Studio.
